About Karla Bickel
- Born Feb. 11, 1946, in White Cloud, Michigan, to Ottomar and Ruth Bickel.
- Raised in Painesville, Ohio, where her father pastored Zion Lutheran Church.
- Graduated from Concordia University, Nebraska.
- Administrated and taught at Sunrise Nursery School in Madison, Ohio.
- Taught primary grades at Christian schools in Missouri, New Orleans, and New
York City.
- In the 1990s, wrote and hosted a children's radio program, "Charity Clown's
Story Circle."
- In 2005, authored and illustrated "Heart Petals on the Hearth," a book of
imaginative stories for children.
- Wrote articles and reviews for area newspapers, taught piano lessons, and
served as a foster parent.
- Was called home to Heaven on April 13, 2013.
